Loma Verde is a site historically used for extensive cattle ranching. The common practices associated with this activity have led to the degradation of an ecosystem rich in wetlands, native forests, and grasslands. Here, we develop multiple ecosystems that combine native and fast-growing species that will not be harvested; we establish protected areas and delineate different strata to maximize benefits for biodiversity. Pomera Maderas, responsible for forest management, holds FSC® certification C016482, which ensures sustainable management in the design, planting, and maintenance of the forest.
